I love capes a bit too much. Infact if you search 'cape' on my blog, I have 20 outfits, all of the being cape related. I didn't realise I owned that many! But if you look at all the outfits involving a cape, they have all been styled differently, phew! I was worried I might have blogged the same outfit twice somehow!
I got sent this Boohoo cape recently and the first thing which stood out to me was the detail on this. The reason why Boohoo contacted me was to help promote their campaign for WeAreReady. Summer has officially ended but the Autumn and Winter season doesn't have to be gloomy and boring! After seeing all the A/W stock starting to show on Boohoo, I'm embracing the colder season! What I love about this cape is that it has a pretty crochet embroidery pattern going all over it which is subtle, but noticeable enough to compliment on. It is one size but I would say anyone could pull this off but it's going to sit slightly different whatever your shape. Overall, it is oversized and I love the length of this (I prefer longer capes more than shorter or cropped ones). This would also look great with flares, or leather culottes!
I have styled it with my Topshop Joni jeans because I don't think I have styled a cape in black skinnies infact! If I have, it would have been yonks ago! I have recently styled some capes in a denim skirt and some culottes, but it is getting into Autumn, and I wanted to show how you could style this cape when it gets really cold.
I'm always a fan of the roll necks when Autumn arrives and this one from River Island is a versatile item that perfectly suits this look. It is sleeveless, which makes this great for layering and for inbtween seasons when the weather can be slightly unpredictable. I would get too warm wearing a roll neck with sleeves for now, but they do this style in loads other colours! I wish it was slightly longer, but thats a personal preference.
The boots from Public Desire are the perfect day wear shoesies! I love the two tone colours which make them more interesting to all my standard plain black ones, and they will go with most of my wardrobe essentials!
