Hey All! This post is pretty exciting! I’ve been given a challenge by H&M to style up one of their new pieces from their Fashion Statement Collection. Of course I wasn't going to turn this challenge down!
I'm a sucker for statement clothing and I always use them as the focus point when planning outfits. In this case I picked this gorgeous autumnal cape from H&M (which is only £14.99!) You certainly wouldn't go un-noticed wearing this statement piece, as the bold colours and eye - catching stripes are simply not to be ignored! There's a massive 70's trend going on in the fashion world at the moment and this cape from H&M 70's inspired collection captures the era perfectly. The lightweight material makes this easy to wear for the rest of the summer and it will also be great to layer when the cooler temperatures come in for autumn. I'm wearing the XS/S and would say this fits anyone from a size 6 up to a size 12. I love the colour of this one because it looks gorgeous with dark denim! I was debating whether to wear it with my dark denim culottes or the denim button skirt, but the skirt topped it for this one. Both would work perfectly with this look to be fair.
I was also debating whether to add a belt to the cape or not. If I ever blog this cape again then I will make a note to include one because I do love wrapping a cape up and making it look fitted. However, if I belted it for this look then my black lace cami top would have been hidden. I always prefer my tops to be basic and versatile, plus it matches the colours on the cape too.
I kept the accessories safe with my black aviators and gladiator sandals. They all colour co-ordinate, plus I wanted the cape to do the talking for this post!
Overall I think this look would be great for a day out. You shouldn't get too hot wearing this cape but it will be really handy for the chilly evenings. Adding a belt will also look great for a fitted style and any dark denim pieces will really compliment the cape well. I would wear this outfit to town, or it would even be a great, casual festival look if wellies were not needed!
