My Pretty Playsuit..now not so pretty..

Hello again!
So I kindly got given this playsuit from Reverse Clothing. The lace detail around the thigh and on the straps makes this playsuit rather girly. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with girly-ness, but I always like to add a bit of edgy touch to make it more genuine to my style. Lets just say you would never see me wearing this with a pink bomber jacket! Too too girly isn't me at all!
So this playsuit was definitely a challenge to give it a different twist. I was originally going to use a light denim shirt, but then my sister actually suggested using her oversized, acid denim jacket and my eyes lit up (well I can't take all the credit, the denim jacket was her idea!). I thought the two really worked together well. The boyfriend - fitted jacket, helped reduce the girliness of the playsuit, to turn it into more of a daywear, festival inspired outfit. The fit of the playsuit is spot on though! But I do think the playsuit looks 1000 times nicer with a blazer or a jacket on top. It feels like there is something missing otherwise. I would happily wear this with a mint blazer, or a fringe leather jacket, or even a lumberjack checked shirt! That would look fab for a grungy look!
The shoes are a must have!! They are a lovely height and look way more expensive than £16! I admit these shoes have given me blisters round the top of my feet due to the cut out bit rubbing. Hopefully I've 'broken them in now' so it shouldn't happen again. Otherwise, I'll try bending the front of the shoe to stretch the material.
I was considering either sunnies, or the fedora hat, and chose the fedora hat, because it added to the festival appearance. I feel like I use sunglasses all the time, and you know what? There's only so many sunglasses you can use, and it can be boring ha! Its nice to try a new accessory for a change. I can see me getting obsessed with this hat though. When something works, you just want to wear it more and more, and then you get bored of it. JUST like overplaying a song you discovered a week ago, and you play it on repeat til you are literally sick of it.
Overall, I am happy with this look and I would happily wear this out into town for a picnic or even for a festival (minus the shoes! Wellies would look great with this!)

  1. Ahh, this look is gorgeous! I think the jacket does a great job of toughening up the playsuit and those shoes are lush :) Primark have been doing shoes so well lately! It's a shame about them rubbing though, I have the same problem with a pair of chunky sandals I got from there this summer, they rub my toes every time I wear them sadly :( Plasters have become a carry around essential for me now haha.
